Meg Quilty, a talented and passionate watercolour artist, is based in Tamworth, rural New South Wales, Australia. She was born in 1968 but had never picked up a brush before 2000. Her love affair with watercolour began while spontaneously attending a weekend workshop with renowned artists, Barry and Lucy McCann.
The mother of five daughters, often draws inspiration for her paintings, from her childhood years, spent on a cattle station in the Kimberley region in far North Western Australia. This artist’s love of the people and the magnificent shapes and colours of the outback terrain have been deeply embedded within her and frequently materialise in her works.
The unique way in which Meg interprets and transforms emotions into visual poetry is particularly evident in her portraits. Skilfully capturing mood and personality within her subjects as her brush strokes breathe life and soul into her paintings.
Although Meg has only been painting professionally for a relatively short time, she has participated in several competitions, winning various prizes, including, firsts, seconds and her most sought after prize…The Peoples Choice Awards.
She enthusiastically passes on her skills, knowledge and passion for painting to others by way of watercolour classes in her studio in Tamworth.
